Process & pricing
The process
The photo-taking process can be simple, straightforward, and free of surprises. After hundreds of shoots, here’s what works best:
Initial emails/phone call: outline the project/goals and review process and pricing. I can work with you to find a location or you tell me if you have a specific location in mind.
The shoot: shoots typically last roughly an hour. If we’re having a good time, we can go longer - I price per project, not per hour or per delivered photo. As we work through the shoot, I always have clients look at the back of my camera to review photos along the way. I urge clients to provide me with active feedback - if you don’t like something, please say something, and we’ll adjust to get it right!
Post-shoot editing: after we wrap up, I really get to work editing. I use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for all my editing. This typically takes 2-3 hours for full photo editing. I edit every photo by hand and never use pre-made filters.
Deliverables: after the photos are wrapped, I send over 20-30 distinct, unique edited photos from our shoot via Dropbox link. This link never expires, and clients are free to do with the photos whatever they would like. If a client wants any changes, I will incorporate one round of edits to the deliverables into the shoot. Additional rounds will come at an additional cost.
Payment: payment can be made via cash, check, or Venmo (@dougbogan) either day-of or after you see the finished product. Your choice!
